I thought there would be a lot more natural recipes than there are, but the book was great overall.

I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book with so many typos in it! If you care at all about grammar and spelling, this book will bother you. It contains some good information, but most of it is pretty much common sense. The argues that you should stay away from sugar and basically eat like a diabetic. She makes a good argument for this, but I’m not sure how much proof backs up her claims. The overall theme is take care of your mental and physical health and your skin will be better. Good points, but probably not worth more than $10.

This is scary but in a good way. It explains how to properly care for your skin. You realize how bad some of things for skin are. My daughter calls me from health food store for me to refer to this book before she purchases anything. My mother-in-law liked it too.

Gabriel has lots of good information, much of it new to me (even though I’m a rabid consumer of beauty/nutrition news). However, she is not a native English speaker and whoever was supposed to edit/proof her book did a terrible, terrible job. I found the typos and strange sentence structures distracting. It’s not a problem on every page, though.

I have tried everything, including years of prescription treatments that made my skin peel, crack, and burn. I used Accutane, twice, with little improvement to my acne at all. I have had moderate to severe acne for years, and finally, at the age of 18, its disappearing thanks to this book. I do not follow their suggested diet, but i do now eat mostly low GI foods. I used her suggestions incrementally to see how each one affected my skin, and the diet alone caused a huge improvement. the recipes as well as her recommendations for products all work great. It is extremely nice to not only be off all of my prescriptions, but to have even better skin than before. after a little less than a month, all i have left are a one or two small pimples and some acne spots and scars that are fading. i would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who do not want to use products with parabans or harsh chemicals
