Used to have cystic acne almost as bad as yours. Went on accutane for 1 month, haven’t had a single zit or blackhead in over? a year.

I got lucky, I responded amazingly well to accutane with almost no side effects, (chapped lips).

Where do you learn all this? I? absolutely admire you, how much you know! I love youu :)

Two years ago I went on Sotret, the less intense version of Accutane, for 6 months. It was AMAZING. I had severe acne on my face, back, and chest and it all just disappeared after I was done taking it. My skin dried up a? lot while I was on it and I got a lot of nosebleeds, but in the end I definitely felt that it was worth it. Now my acne is back on just my chin and surprisingly my neck, which I never had before. I’m pretty sure I’ll end up going on some kind of meds again soon.

Tetracycline did nothing for me. Finally, my dermatologist gave me Accutane. Personally, it gave me dry skin, creaky joints, decreased night vision (though it came back) and sensitivity to the sun. I took 25 mg a day (doesn’t sound like much but I am small…) for around 6 months and it completely changed my life. Sure some people’s acne comes? back, but a second course should fix this. 7 people I know who have suffered with cystic acne are testament to this. Its worth the risk, honestly.

I am currently on Minocycline and have been for almost 2 months. Before, I was HORRID. I had acne EVERYWHERE. Back, chest, neck, face, and in my hair. I still have some because I am technically still recovering from all the scars and after watching this video, my one thought is that my dermatologist never mentioned being on a pro-biotic to counter the Antibiotic. I’ve watched most? of your video’s and I love what your doing. Thank you for what your doing and keep up the good work. :-)

Over the past 5 months or so ive broken out around my for head, chin, and a bit on my nose. On my chin i have inherited from my mom getting red scars, and now i have red scars from old pimples. I have tried different washes and the only one that worked was the Neutrogena wash and that only worked for a few weeks then i started to get dry, raw skin. Every thing else i have tried has either made me worse? or just helped a little bit.Thinking of going to my doctor, what do you guys think, suggestion>

@Overmelodramaticteen When I started using Diane-35 my acne was really bad for the first 2 months, then it slowly started to get better. By the 6th month and since, my skin is? clear, just the occasional zit somewhere on my body. But regarding side-effects, I have experienced a slight breast growth/tenderness and a decrease in libido. How do you deal with your scars? I’m having difficulty with the scars on my body.

@ajohal154 i did the exact same thing. went on accutane for about 9 months,? then went off it. my skin was clear for a year but then started to act up again. before it could get back to how it was i quickly went on diane-35. ive only been on it for 3 months but it seems ok. i havent gotten any side effects so far..

:? My night vision permanently sucks, think it is from accutain. Lots of these meds have pretty serious side effects. Doctors don’t always talk about those much.

I hope the minocycline didn’t stain the roots of your teeth like it did mine.? Cute kitten!

what about? topical ones?

My acne was very bad, all over my body and I used Accutane in 2007 and it came back in 2008 In Sept 2010 I began to use a form of birth-control, Diane-35 and my skin has been clear since then, I’m concerned that once I get off of the birth control my acne will come back. But I agree with? you Cassandra everyone needs to understand their own body, I now realize the cause of my acne was due to high levels of testosterone and birth control causes the testosterone to decrease.

everyone ask ur doctors about spiranolactone i was borderline about to go on accutane when i found IT. the cure i mean and my face was worse than hers.. spiro with some tea tree? oil and argan oil on the scars my face is amazing i dont even have to use makeup anymore.

that was the last one? sorry!

the reason i never took the antibiotics this second time is because of my worries from last time n ecause i genuinely dont like taking it. i regret this all ow because i have sever scarring all ove rmy cheeks. help! whats? ur advice

im havin worse acne? nw than 2 years ago n my doc has given me the same antib. wothout even consultin me.i didnt take the first bottle. n so that got thrown away. nw if i wanted to start takin it again, i have 3 bottles left but ill be one bottle short for the entire course. is this bad again?

and im worried that becasue i didnt complete the? course of the antibiotics that its really bad or lke my body wont like it if i take it again. i dont really know i just remebr from science lessons that ur supposed to complete the course.
..continued…sorry its long!

hi cassandra,
i have a concern because about 2 years ago i was? on antibiotics for my acne and i hated taking it. i even have to take it in liquid form coz i cant swallow tablets. but basically it really worked for my skin but then i stopped taking it coz i didnt enjoy it and this will sound sooo superficial and dumb but i was younger back then and i basically stopped taking the antibiotics coz i was going to be goign to a party where i was going to drink alcohol.
…continued

I was on antibiotics for different reasons as a tween,? and it is absolutely ridiculous how sick they made me. They “fix” one problem and cause another and then you need another prescription to fix that and so on…

@MissJemimaPuddleduck It’s healing though. My doctor recommended? I avoid sugar, fruit (all sweet things basically), nuts, and dairy until my symptoms resolved, and told me to take probiotics 4-5 times a day. So I am sort of doing that.. :P I also just discovered apple cider vinegar (the raw kind, with the mother), which so far is surprisingly powerful. I take two teaspoons in water 1-3 times per day. If you can stand the taste, it is worth a try. I’m starting to crave it, which is really weird.

My skin broke out like crazy when I was on antibiotics for two weeks this spring. I’d never taken them? for my skin because my acne had only ever been mild. I should’ve stopped the treatment as soon as I noticed this side effect. -.-

But I didn’t, and now I have all this scaring and stuff, and although it has improved a lot, my skin, whenever it breaks out, is worse now (age 22) than ever. =/

I’ve? never taken antibiotics for acne, but for two weeks this spring I was on some for another reason. My acne had always been mild before this. During and after the antibiotic treatment, my skin broke out like crazy. I was 21 and had never experienced acne this severe.

It’s a lot better now, thanks to my natureopathic doctor, but I have scars and stuff, and really have to watch watch I eat. =/

i know you didn’t mention it, but i was on accutane for 9 months and i was pulled off early because i had problems seeing at night (in the dark). i’ve been off for about 3 years now and i think my vision is back to normal, which is great because i had heard it was an irreversible side effect. i did start breaking out about 6 months after stopping accutane. i? have a new dermatologist now and have been on amoxicillin (i’m allergic to minocycline) for about six weeks.
